This Privacy Policy describes how Warm Sun Ventures LLC ("Warm Sun Ventures," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information in connection with LifeRida, our software-as-a-service platform for licensed life insurance agents (the "Service"), and our marketing website at liferida.com (the "Website"). LifeRida is a product of Warm Sun Ventures and is not a separate legal entity. By using the Service or the Website you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information:
Account information you provide. When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored hashed, never in plaintext). When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment-card or bank details directly; we receive only a tokenized identifier and the last four digits of your card.
Content you upload or generate inside the Service. This includes prospect contact records, video presentations and their transcripts, supporting documents, calendar connections you authorize (Google or Microsoft), commissions you log, and any messages you send through the Service.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Website or use the Service we collect technical data such as IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, page views, referring URLs, and timestamps. We use this information for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and analytics. Aggregated, non-identifying engagement metrics from your share-link recipients (link opens, video starts and completions) are made available to you inside the Service to help you understand prospect engagement.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service and the Website.
- Verify your identity at sign-up and sign-in (including by sending one-time codes by email or SMS).
- Process subscriptions, billing, and refunds.
- Send service-related notifications (security alerts, billing receipts, product updates).
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations, court orders, and lawful regulatory requests.
- Conduct internal analytics, debugging, and product research, using de-identified or aggregated data wherever practical.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your prospect data or your video content to train third-party machine-learning models.
3. SMS, Phone Numbers, and Carrier Data
When you provide a phone number for verification, we share it with our SMS delivery provider (AWS End User Messaging) so the carrier can route the verification code to your device. The carrier may collect technical metadata (delivery status, network type, opt-out events) and return it to us. Phone numbers used for verification are stored hashed in our database; the cleartext phone number is retained only as needed to send service messages.
If you reply STOP to a verification SMS, the carrier records the opt-out and we cease sending SMS to that number; we do not share opt-out information with third parties for marketing. You can resume SMS by emailing support@liferida.com from the address on your account.
When you send a presentation share-link, the recipient's engagement data (link open, video start, video completion) is captured and made available to you inside the Service. We do not sell or rent recipient engagement data to third parties.
5. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Upon termination, we will, on request received within thirty (30) days, provide a reasonable export of your data; after that window we may delete or de-identify your data subject to our backup and retention practices. Some operational logs (security, billing, audit) are retained for up to seven (7) years for compliance with U.S. financial and regulatory record-keeping requirements.
6. Security
We protect information using industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards: encrypted transport (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest, hashed passwords (argon2id), workspace-scoped access controls, audit logging, and regular review of access permissions. No system is perfectly secure; if we detect a breach affecting your data we will notify you and any required regulator within the time frames mandated by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information; to object to certain processing; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have the additional rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected, the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. EEA, UK, and Swiss residents have the rights described in the GDPR / UK GDPR / Swiss FADP. To exercise any of these rights, email legal@warmsunventures.com from the address associated with your account; we will verify your identity before responding.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for licensed insurance professionals and is not directed to anyone under eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at legal@warmsunventures.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, give you advance notice (for example, by email). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
